EU solidarity at the time of the coronavirus pandemic

One of the fundamental communication determinants of the European Union and the European Commission is solidarity. It came to the fore especially during the coronavirus pandemic, when the countries, regions and the cities across the European Union were providing help to those that needed it the most and demonstrated the European solidarity in action in multiple segments:

A. Solidarity in the care of patients — through the treatment of sick individuals from neighbouring countries that were significantly affected by the coronavirus pandemic

B. Solidarity in protection of health professionals and citizens — through the donation of protective equipment (masks, gloves, suits, disinfectants and respirators) to member states most affected by the coronavirus pandemic

C. Solidarity in the safe return of citizens to their home countries — through the organization of repatriation flights financed by the Union Civil Protection Mechanism or directly from the budgets of the Member States to which over 50,000 EU citizens and almost 10,000 other people have been safely returned.
